I just hung the fan today. The smaller bolt head broke off while I was using a hand socket to install. It was too deep in to remove it. The bigger bolt seems sturdy enough to hold the weight. It is hard to install the fan mount with the fan on (fan is in the way to get good access to the bolts), but if you remove the fan from the mount it's almost impossible to screw back on. When turning it on with the pull cord, the entire chain broke in half. The fan itself seems sturdy and blows well.

I highly recommend this fan. It's a very large 30 inch fan with 3 speed oscillating and very well made. I did read it has misting capabilities but have not tried this out yet. It's a quality, well built fan. the hardware is super heavy duty so I have no fears of it not holding the weight of this fan. it's very heavy. I believe around 40 lbs but I could be mistaken. it will take two to hang this if you purchase the 30 inch. Sheerly due to the size and bulk of it. Be certain to have a joist strong and wide enough to support the hardware and fan. I put mine on an outdoor carport turned porch. The fan has three speeds but I keep mine on LOW and it blows you away. It is a it noisey but I expected this from a large heavy duty fan. However, my daughter is playing a game on her tablet in the seat next to mine and even with me under the fan almost I can here the music on the tablet. So apparently it isn't that loud. This is an excellent purchase. Sheerly due to it being waterproof, and the ocsillating feature, size, and three speed capabilities. The hardware for this fan is very heavy duty. Be sure you hang this from a joist that can sustain the heavy weight over time. Due to the size and bulk of it it took too people to hang this fan. It was not assembled but was simple to do and took only minutes to assemble.
