The adjustability of this fireplace really stands out from others. You can select from nine different color schemes of flames, variable heat levels, and extensive timer settings. It even includes hardware to use it flush mounted in a cabinet, wall mounted, or freestanding. There's even a built-in function that detects open windows, and if the room temperature drops suddenly it shuts itself off as a safety feature. The exterior face is such a clean, neutral style that it would fit well in a modern decor using the crystals with a blue flame pattern, or in a rustic decor with the simulated logs and a traditional fire color. ONE THING TO NOTE - the included instructions don't mention it but the feet for freestanding use are not symmetrical; the glass makes it a little bit front heavy so the feet need to be oriented to make it it stable. Very happy with it as I'm able to use it freestanding until the cabinet for it is finished.

I like that it has 9 different flame colors and comes with an easy-to-use remote control (batteries included). You can set the temperature between 60 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit and a timer for 0.5 to 9 hours. It also has a 99-degree emergency heat feature. There's even a 7-day timer that allows it to turn on automatically each day, which I think is a bit of overkill. It has an automatic shutoff feature to keep it from overheating, so I'm not concerned about safety. It comes with the choice of preinstalled wooden logs or crystals. I left the logs in for now, but it will be pretty easy to install the crystals if I decide to later. It may be installed as wall-mounted, recessed in-wall, or freestanding. For now, I have it freestanding on the bottom shelf of a wooden TV stand in my office. It provides adequate heat for a small office. It's designed to heat up to 400 square feet and my office is approximately 200, so it's more than adequate for my needs.

Depending on your mood (looking for cozy and warm or bright and modern or a color for a holiday...) you will have 9 colors and 5 different brightness levels to create just the right atmosphere you're going for. It has 2 heat settings and we've found that even on low, it keeps the room cozy and warm. It has both a touchscreen (on the front of the unit) and it comes with a remote making it easy and convenient to control every function with a touch or from your couch with the remote. We are very happy with this electric fireplace.

This is quite a nice addition to the family room. The light and the movement really create a beautiful energy and ambiance in what is otherwise kind of a dark room. I have another one of these in my bedroom, though from a different manufacturer. The size is the same, the weight is about the same. I like that this particular one has an added feature that I do not have on my first one, which is a 7 day program function. The heat works extremely well in this unit and I really like that it comes with feet so you can mount it on the wall or simply stand it on an appropriate surface. The instructions even include directions for building a mounting box if you wanted to create the illusion of having it inset into the wall, which was a really nice touch. This unit also comes with crystals you can use as the media instead of the logs, which would give it an even more modern appearance. I like the logs and chose to use them. I opted for a simple wall mount installation. This is simply a matter of detaching the mounting strip from the housing and attaching it to the wall. First, I would recommend getting heavy duty wall anchors - the ones included are decent, but this unit is on the heavy side. Secondly, I would also recommend having a second set of hands to assist when mounting it. Removing the glass face plate is necessary to remove the Styrofoam packaging inside and mounting the unit with it detached is easier and lighter. Two things about this unit that fall a little short for me: First: I wish it had more flame color options. Second, I wish the flames were taller. As you can see from the pics, they are very low and you cannot adjust them, other than the brightness. This one sustained a little damage in its travels, but fortunately, it's function was not impacted, the dent in the housing is covered by the glass faceplate and the chip in the corner of the faceplate glass is really hard to even see because the glass is so reflective. I had this up for the holiday and no one noticed thie chip.

I believe this can be used for a long time, the flame is very vivid, but there is a problem with transportation, the middle of the box is broken, but it does not affect the use. I am in a good mood I have a video but it doesn't show up
