This is a serious shop fan and 100% heavy-duty, industrial quality. It is considerably quieter than similar fans I've used -only a little louder than my 24" pedestal house fan. It is quite heavy and should not be placed on any firm, finished floor or it could damage the finish with its metal base. It has 3 speeds, oscillates at 80 deg and has a tilt feature of 15 deg. It moves a serious amount of air and works best in open spaces. It works very well in my oversized three-bay garage! This is a solidly built fan -all metal where it counts. The fan requires a fair amount of assembly and does not include the necessary tools but it does assemble easily with common household tools. My only concerns are minor and are: the oscillation feature is turned on/off by removing a bolt and repositioning a metal link -easy enough but a switch or at least a screw would be easier, however, the bolt is sturdier so will outlast a screw. I wish the wheels were larger so the fan would not require being leaned down so far to move without the base touching the floor. The 9' cord is much appreciated but because this fan is so tall, about half of the cord just extends from the motor housing to the floor; a 12-15' cord would have been more convenient. The instructions omit a small fact that when securing the back of the fan cage, it must be positioned so the small hole in the flange is down, otherwise it will not align with the hole on the front of the cage and you won't be able to secure the only screw -it is otherwise secured soundly with sliding fasteners. Overall, this is a respectable fan and a great accessory for any shop or outdoor type environment where moving air is beneficial. I enthusiastically recommend this fan!
